For this project, I developed and implemented a unique hybrid pipeline that seamlessly integrated our 3D and 2D departments. This was the most complex part of the production: I trained the 3D team to go beyond simply following concepts by applying core 2D artistic principles to their models.
Simultaneously, I empowered the 2D department with a custom ActionScript I developed, which optimized the Overpainting process and reduced turnaround time by 50% - while actually elevating the final visual quality. Through comprehensive documentation and workshops, I standardized the workflow into an automated, self-sustaining system. My role involved pipeline development, performing final overpaints, and conducting art reviews.
Note: 3D were created by the 3D department based on 2D source materials.
